The RME 12Mic-D features twelve uncompromising, studio-quality mic and line inputs with digital conversion, remote-controllable gain, built-in MADI and Dante connectivity, and a host of additional features designed for high-end studio recording, live audio, sound reinforcement, and outdoor music recording.
Designed for the next decadeRME preamps for audio networks
The RME 12Mic-D features twelve studio-quality mic and line inputs with uncompromising digital conversion; remotely controllable gain; built-in MADI and Dante connectivity; and a host of additional features designed to make it the ideal companion for any professional recording setup. The 12Mic-D is sonically identical to the existing 12Mic (with 128 AVB channels) and completes the M-Series range of professional network audio solutions.
Twelve transparent microphone preamps for exceptional conversion performance
The padless mic input stages have a gain range of 75 dB and accept signals up to +18 dBu. On the converter side, the 12Mic boasts an exceptional signal-to-noise ratio across all channels. The twelve front-panel XLR connections accept mic and line-level signals, while the first four connections also accept TRS connectors, with a switchable high-impedance (Hi-Z) output for instruments.
MADI and ADAT for maximum flexibility
In addition to Dante, the 12Mic-D features two separate MADI ports (integrated coaxial as standard and optical MADI available via an optional SFP module), three ADAT outputs, and a line-level headphone output for monitoring all incoming digital and analog signals. Using a routing matrix, each of the 12Mic-D’s 204 input channels can be individually routed to one of its 218 output channels.
When connected to a Dante network, a combination of analog and digital channels (such as those from connected MADI devices) can be transmitted to the network as needed. In turn, the 12Mic-D can receive up to 64 audio channels from the Dante network, which can then be routed to headphones, ADAT, and two MADI connections, as required.
