Introducing RODE VideoMic
The RODE VideoMic is a lightweight, ultra-directional condenser microphone designed specifically for video cameras. It attaches to the camera via the hot shoe mount found on the top of most cameras.
Based on recent « shotgun » technology used in the film industry, the VideoMic’s directional pickup pattern primarily captures sounds from the scene being filmed while rejecting ambient noise. Thanks to its elastic suspension and streamlined body shape, the transmission of camera handling noise is significantly reduced. The permanent windscreen effectively eliminates wind noise during outdoor recordings.
Power Supply:
The VideoMic is designed to operate on a 9V alkaline battery. The battery compartment is conveniently located inside the microphone arm. Easy battery insertion is ensured by a fully removable cover. The VideoMic can provide over 100 hours of continuous operation, thanks to a current consumption of only 5 mA.
Output Impedance:
The VideoMic operates perfectly up to an impedance of 1 k. For a lower load, the output level will be reduced.
