Description

Introducing the Audio-Technica ATR6550X

The Audio-Technica ATR6550X is a shotgun microphone that delivers clear, intelligible sound capture from near and far distances. It features two modes: Wide for short- to medium-distance recording and Far for long-distance recording. In Wide mode, the microphone operates like a standard cardioid condenser, focusing the pickup on the desired sound source while blocking out noise from the rear and sides. Far mode narrows the polar pattern to a supercardioid, providing even greater directionality for capturing sound from a distance while bypassing ambient noise such as traffic, air handling systems, room reverberation, and mechanically coupled vibrations.

The microphone comes with a permanently attached 3.5mm cable and a number of useful accessories, such as a camera mount, a support clip, an AA battery, and a foam windscreen.
