Introducing the RME Digiface AVB
The RME Digiface AVB is a 256-channel audio interface. It offers a glimpse into the future of audio networking technology. The device uses AVB, an open protocol developed by the IEEE, to transfer up to 256 audio channels between a PC and an audio network. An additional headphone output allows for high-quality monitoring.
New ways to transport audio
The RME Digiface AVB demonstrates how audio can be transferred between a Mac or PC and the network using the AVB protocol stack. It allows sending up to 128 audio channels for recording and playback at a sampling rate of 48 kHz / 24 bits and 64 channels at 96 kHz (128 AVB I/O channels) or 32 channels at 192 kHz with quadruple speed (64 AVB I/O channels).
