The RØDE Broadcaster is a large-diaphragm, front-firing condenser microphone designed for broadcast applications. Its enhanced proximity effect delivers the rich, high-quality sound sought after by radio stations. It is also well-suited for dubbing and voice-over work in film and television. The Broadcaster features a pop filter that minimizes plosive noise to prevent capsule overload and audio distortion.

In addition to a 20Hz20kHz bandwidth, the Broadcaster features a high-pass filter (75Hz) to cut out low-frequency background noise from sources such as air conditioning or traffic. Furthermore, the Broadcaster has an « On-Air » indicator that can be controlled by the On/Mute button on many mixing consoles. When the microphone is not connected to a mixing console, the illuminated indicator shows that the microphone is powered.
