Highly accurate recording, even in noisy environments

The AT8035 is ideal for video and film, but it must be positioned outside the frame, meaning out of the camera’s field of view. This type of microphone, equipped with an interference tube in front of the capsule, effectively cancels out much off-axis sound. Audio-Technica’s in-line condenser microphones combine a directional (« gradient ») capsule and an interference tube to also eliminate sound coming from behind.
Typically, the interference tube on this type of microphone can be extended to reduce the pickup angle and thus increase the pickup distance. Short in-line condenser microphones don’t have as long a pickup range as longer models, but their wider pickup angle is often preferred in certain situations where accuracy at the source is less critical.

Bass attenuation filter

The low-cut position helps reduce sensitivity to low-frequency ambient noise, such as traffic noise, ventilation noise, room reverberation, or vibrations transmitted mechanically by the recording device.

Two power supply modes

The AT8035 shotgun microphone can be powered in two ways, ensuring maximum versatility. You can use it on a professional camera or recorder equipped with XLR inputs with phantom power, or with a 1.5V AA battery (included) on any device with XLR inputs.
