Ideal for overhead use or to increase ambient lighting, Aputure’s 66cm diameter Softbox Lantern offers the same omnidirectional light quality as traditional Chinese lanterns, but is constructed from durable materials and includes accessories such as a set of skirts to control the 270-degree beam spread. The lantern has a Bowens mount suitable for Aputure lamps such as the 120d or 300d series, but it is also compatible with many other lamps that use this popular mount.

The art of control

To create cinematic depth, you need to be able to control your light. Aputure therefore wanted to take the design of the spherical lantern even further. The lantern comes with a fully adjustable, four-section light control skirt. Using a hook-and-loop design, the removable skirts can be attached in any position for quick and precise control of your ambient light. You can roll the skirt up or down to block out unwanted light.
